History

Formed in 1996 by Tim Staples and Sera Vine the first model produced was a 1:144 scale copy of Tims fathers Blenheim Mk IV. Gradually over the years Sera's knowledge and skill at creating masters has evolved from that first basic Blenheim through projects like the Fairey Swordfish to the highly detailed 1:48 scale fighters produced today.

As knowledge of our handcrafted models widened we were approached by a number of organisations. We attended the 2005 and 2006 Al Ain airshows. Produced a limited edition to accompany two of Breitling's watches. A diorama of Hampdens commissioned by Wg Cdr Jim Flint is now on display in the mess at RAF Scampton. Likewise a number of our silver models have been commissioned by various RAF Squadrons.

The company cat Winston, an aptly named British Blue, arrived in 2007 and later that year Sera and Tim were married.

Our processes have also evolved. We still cast and produce our models by hand but now use 3D printing in the production of the first very basic master. The latest development is a new range of light civil aircraft available in individual markings as the ultimate private pilots desk piece.

Continuing with our search for new ideas we now have a large following on Twitter and new accounts on both Facebook and Instagram. Sera's Blog has also been widely welcomed.

Currently we are researching the possibilities of producing our decals in-house using new inkjet tehcnology.
