Mazda Zoom Zoom

No one who has seen a performance by the Mazda Aerobatic Team will ever forget it. Their manoeuvres result in one of the most physically demanding workouts imaginable and their breathtaking performances give spectators a front-row seat view of the precision and complexity of modern, hard-core aerobatics.
Their unique style of choreography, incorporating many finely tuned mirror-image formation manoeuvres, is indicative of Mazda's "Zoom-Zoom" theme of emotion in motion. The Ford Motor Company has invested large amounts of time, effort and money in repositioning the organization worldwide as a multi-faceted operation with a core of several leading brands such as Mazda. Each year the Team entertains thousands of fans with over 50 displays throughout South Africa. "We like to share the inspiration that we feel in the cockpit with everyone who watches us - Reflecting the philosophy that centres on the sheer joy of motion." Says team leader Brad Bennetts.
With the decision to form an Aerobatic Team which exhibited the kind of energy and passion that Brad has for this sport, when selecting an aircraft, the Zlin 50 with its nimble manoeuvring and cutting edge precision ability has proven to be an instrument more than worthy of the task. Brad, a seasoned airshow pilot with 300 performances to his credit is joined by two talented and passionate formation pilots, Larry Beamish and lan Billing. Asf harmony between Team concept and the Mazda brand is essential, it is crucial that the pilots sing the same melody. The pilots agree on the same principles of a successful team - unshakable trust and communication between its members. Overcoming the pressure of performing in front of thousands of eager eyes cannot be affected by poor discipline and it has taken many hours of flying together to develop that absolute trust that the team members have in one another.
As Mazda continue to deliver on the promise of quality excellence - as demonstrated in their exciting new products - the Mazda Aerobatic team continue to evolve their displays to inspired levels of precision.
