The
World Free Fly Team participating in 'Al Ain 2006' was made up of 83 people:
73 free fly participants plus 3 FAI judges, 3 camera flyers, 2 ground
control and 2 packers.
Their show included an attempt to set a new free fly world record by achieving
the largest free fly formation with 70 - 80 skydivers. In the last attempt,
50 people were able to link to formation, and this broke the first two
records of 43 and 24 free flyers.
At Al Ain Aerobatic Show, the World Free Fly Team comprised the Free Fly
Clowns, Flyboyz, Babylon Free Fly Team, Chemical Brothers, Arizona Flight
Club, and many others of the like. Droped from a UAE Hercules the skydivers
coloured the sky with their bright canopies and amazed the crowds with
their spectacular landings.
The Free Fly Clowns team, which is the prop of this World Free Fly Team,
was originally created by a German man; Mr. Olav Zipser, and his two original
team mates (Mr. Omar Al Hegelan of Saudi Arabia and Mr. Charles Bryan
of USA) who helped to take the sport to the high level it is today. What
makes this World Team distinguished is that each and every one of the
participants is of champion status.
